The Udaipur Cycling Club is a community that prides itself on inclusivity and support for members of all ages and backgrounds. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce one of our members, Hari Shankar Ji Kumawat, who recently completed his first century (100 km cycling ride) at the age of 62 years.
Hari Shankar Ji is a retired joint-commissioner who started cycling on May 15, 2022. Since then, he has covered an impressive distance of 2,535 km with an elevation of 14,292 meters. He has also completed 27 rides of 25 km and 19 rides of 50 km, which is a testament to his dedication to the sport.
But Hari Shankar Ji’s love for cycling goes beyond just logging miles. He also enjoys group cycling and off-roading, making him a great addition to our community. We believe that cycling is not just a sport but a way of life, and Hari Shankar Ji embodies that spirit.
It’s always great to see family members inspiring each other, and Hari Shankar Ji’s daughter Pooja Kumawat played a significant role in introducing him to our cycling club. Hari Shankar Ji immediately joined our club on January 1, 2023, and has been an active member ever since.
Hari Shankar Ji’s recent accomplishment of completing a 100 km cycling ride is truly inspiring. It serves as a reminder that age should never be a barrier to pursuing one’s passions and goals. We’re proud to have Hari Shankar Ji as a member of our club, and we hope that his journey inspires others to take up cycling.
Cycling is not just about physical fitness; it also offers several mental health benefits. Regular cycling can improve one’s mood, reduce stress levels, and even enhance cognitive function. Additionally, cycling can be a social activity, which can help to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation that some retirees may experience.
As a club, we believe that cycling is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. We welcome everyone, whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a beginner. Our community provides a supportive and inclusive environment for all, and we’re committed to helping members achieve their goals.
Hari Shankar Ji’s dedication and determination are truly admirable, and his accomplishment is a testament to his hard work and commitment to the sport. We’re proud to have him as a member of our club and look forward to many more cycling adventures with him in the future.
In conclusion, Hari Shankar Ji’s story is a great example of how it’s never too late to start pursuing your passions and setting new goals, no matter your age. We hope that his journey inspires others to take up cycling and join our community. Cycling is not just a sport; it’s a way of life, and we’re excited to share that with anyone who wants to join us.
