Dear UCCians,

Firstly, I want to give a big shoutout to all of our dedicated members who have put in an incredible amount of effort into our club rides. Together, we logged an astonishing 1,312 hours of cycling, covering a distance of 27,683 km and conquering an elevation of 1,64,302 meters. We had an incredible number of achievements last month with our members completing a record 64 centuries and 156 half-centuries. It’s inspiring to see the passion and hard work that our community puts into cycling.
Furthermore, I want to remind everyone of our upcoming longest ride, “Udaipur to Golden Temple,” which will take place in December. I’m thrilled to see so many members preparing themselves for this incredible journey.

Our Cyclist Poets

Happy Birthday

Tandem bike- Added a new dimension to my Cycling
Myself, Dr Manish Agrawal. I am a 43-year-old doctor, who has been into cycling for the past 6 years. I regularly bicycle 700-800 km a month. I love all kinds of cycling, Mountain biking, Road cycling, and cycling on climbs as well as flats.
I already own three primary types of bicycles: A mountain bike, a road bike and a gravel bike. Recently I added one more dimension to my cycling by purchasing a Polygon impression Tandem bike. And believe me, it was an altogether a different experience of pedaling. I would like to share some of my experiences with this bike in last one month.
I have already completed around 300 km on this bike in one month, with different partners, starting from my 9-year-old daughter to my 13-year-old son, my wife (non-cyclist) and few of the regular cyclists from our club. On one hand, a tandem gave me an opportunity to take my non-cyclist family members on my routine cycling routes, which otherwise wouldn’t have been possible, thereby introducing them to my world of cycling. And on the other hand, pedaling with some of the seasoned cyclists of club made me ride faster than on any other bike, as it combined the power of two!!
In a short span, this bicycle taught me many lessons about companionship, team spirit, mutual respect for fellow athlete, and the value of family bonding. I wish the passion for cycling stays alive within me forever.

This picturesque village is situated just 15 km from Udaipur, towards Ubeshwar, and is known for its scenic beauty and serpentine roads that wind their way through the forest. One of the highlights of this ride is the opportunity to witness an unforgettable sunrise over the village. The Udaipur Cycling Club has explored this route on two occasions this month, and it’s no wonder why – the beauty and tranquility of Varda are not to be missed. Join a group of fellow cyclists and experience the magic of this hidden gem for yourself.

Important Note:
We will be recognizing and awarding all members who achieve mentioned milestones in our club. To ensure fairness and clarity, we would like to outline the rules regarding these awards:
- Every member who reaches the milestones will be recognized and awarded.
- If a member achieves more than one milestone, they will be eligible for one award only, which will be the sum of all the milestones achieved.
- The stats for the categories such as distance, elevation, etc. will be counted from the month in which you joined or renewed your membership with our club. For instance, if you joined in March, then the counting of your stats will begin from March only.
We hope that these rules help clarify any confusion regarding the awards and calculation of stats. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
