Introducing Rachit Singhvi, a passionate athlete hailing from Udaipur, Rajasthan, and a participant in the TAAVDO 2023 challenge. Guided by his favorite quote, “Only the disciplined ones in life are free. If you are undisciplined, you are a slave to your moods and your passions,” Rachit embarked on his fitness journey alongside his father in 2015 as a casual badminton player. Over time, this activity transformed into his beloved hobby.
In 2016, Rachit’s dedication and hard work led him to represent Udaipur District in the school states tournament, marking his first major competition. Fueled by his ambition, he continued to train diligently, earning the opportunity to play for Rajasthan in the All India Nationals for three consecutive years. As the captain of his university’s badminton team at MLSU Commerce College, he represented his institution with pride.
Despite encountering circumstances that prompted him to take a break from competitive sports after 2019, Rachit found solace in cycling during the post-Covid-19 era. His initial 26-kilometer ride left him feeling accomplished, and from there, he gradually increased his distances, eventually completing a challenging 100-kilometer ride in just six hours.
Joining the Udaipur Cycling Club introduced Rachit to a supportive community of like-minded individuals who motivated him in various aspects of life. Engaging in group rides became his daily source of inspiration. Inspired to set new challenges, he embarked on a journey to cycle 100 kilometers each day for 31 days in July 2021, covering an impressive total distance of 3208 kilometers with an elevation gain of 28000 meters.
Never one to shy away from new experiences, Rachit also discovered a passion for running and completed his first half-marathon race alongside Dr. Pratik Tantia, who became both a friend and a life-changing influence. In 2022, Rachit’s remarkable athletic journey continued with TAAVDO Chapter 1, where he showcased his dedication by consistently participating in the event for 30 days and even secured a spot in the top five contestants. Encouraged by his friends, particularly Professor Saab. Rachit aimed for the first rank, making the Taavdo journey an unforgettable experience.
Motivated by his past achievements, Rachit took on the Herculean Triathlon in July 2022, participating in a grueling race that encompassed a 1.9-kilometer swim, a 90-kilometer cycle, and a 21-kilometer run. Despite the challenging cutoff time of 8 hours, he emerged victorious, completing the triathlon in an impressive 6 hours and 36 minutes. With this accomplishment, Rachit proudly embraced the title of a triathlete, transcending his roots as a simple badminton player.
Reflecting on his experience with TAAVDO in the previous year, Rachit describes it as an incredible month for him as an athlete. Throughout the event, he consistently displayed his commitment and achieved a commendable position among the top five participants. However, the unwavering support and motivation from his fellow athletes in the final five days propelled him to aim for the first rank. Rachit extends his heartfelt gratitude to Professor Saab, for providing much-needed inspiration during this remarkable journey.
Now, as Rachit enters TAAVDO 2023, his goal is set on achieving Silver Points. Fully prepared to embrace this new challenge, Rachit Singhvi stands ready to push his limits and make his mark in the competition.
